Intro to Me:)
I love the Lord. There isn’t much in this world that I can be as sure of as that. He is my hero, my Heavenly Daddy, my very best friend. Nothing makes me happier than being with Him.
Go back five years, and in response to the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I would have said a teacher or an actress, or something that pays well. Over the past couple of years, it has become clear to me. I want to serve the Lord. No matter what I do, where I go, or who I meet, I want it to be for His glory and because of His will.
In the summer of 2009, I went on a mission trip to Guatemala. With this being my first mission trip and first major trip away from home, I had no idea what to expect. On this trip, I fell in love with humanity. Yes, we are a terrible, sinful people, but there is hope. Seeing the desperation of the Guatemalan people, poor and hungry, fighting over the things we gave them, my heart broke for them. I realized how much the world needs God. That was when I came to an understanding of what Jesus means about feeding the hungry with the bread of God. That was when my viewpoint on life changed.
I want to be a part of God’s plan. I’ve seen what He can do first hand. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. With this desire that God has placed on my heart, to serve His people, I cannot wait to see what He has in store. I trust Him with all of my being and am praying diligently for the next step in His magnificent plan.
